Nomination Through Invitation
Nomination criteria is determined by the local chapter leaders and is typically based on GPA and/or leadership potential. Students that were invited to our chapter earned distinction with their nomination given by New Mexico State University. To achieve induction, the leadership program requirements must be met to achieve induction. Once you become a member, you are a member for life.

Nomination Without Invitation
In order to join the NSLS at your campus or online, you must submit an application, receive a nomination from at least one faculty member, and then be approved by your Chapter Advisor. While only one faculty nomination is needed, we recommend requesting nomination from 3 faculty as it can take time for faculty to reply. Additionally, it helps to request recommendation from more than one faculty to assure they receive the nomination request in case it gets caught in a faculty member’s junk folder.
NSLS members pay a one-time registration fee of $95 when applying to join the organization. The fee includes all membership benefits, partner discounts and a lifetime membership. Membership does not expire or need renewing. Once you become a member, you are a member for life, even if you do not complete the requirements needed to be inducted.
